2017 ANZATS conference and call for papers

The Australian and New Zealand Association of Theological Schools (ANZATS) holds an annual scholarly conference.  The conference brings together researchers from the theological colleges and university department of theology in Australia and New Zealand thus enabling the sharing of ideas and scholarship on a truly regional basis that is unique.

I am pleased to attach the Call for Papers for the 2017 ANZATS Conference to be held in Adelaide on 9-12 July 2017.  Dr James Winderlich of the Australian Lutheran College and the Adelaide Conference Organising Committee have been working steadily on the preparations all year.

The theme of the Conference is Kinship and Family in Contemporary Australia and New Zealand.  There are also three further streams accepting paper proposals: Lukan Theology, Learning and Teaching Theology, and Barth Studies.  Abstracts are to be submitted by 17 February 2017.

We are pleased to advise that two international speakers have accepted invitations to deliver plenaries at the Conference.  The speakers are Dr Lynn Cohick, Professor of New Testament at Wheaton College, and Dr Stephen Barton, Reader and Honorary Fellow in the Department of New Testament at the University of Durham.

The AGM of ANZATS Ltd will take place on Tuesday afternoon, 11 July.  There will be a presidential address on Wednesday 12 July.

The registration form and program will be available early in the New Year.

Please feel free to circulate the attached Call for Papers widely.
