You are invited to the next Brisbane ANZATS seminar

on Monday 15 August 2016 –  1.30 to 3.30 pm

Topic – ‘Theological Education in diverse of cultures and contexts.’

at Christian Heritage College, Citipointe Ministry College, 322 Wecker Road Mansfield.

The Citipointe Ministry College is located underneath the large church auditorium, entrance if from the lower car park.

Speakers –

Dr Bruce Allder (Principal Emeritus, Lecturer in Pastoral Theology, Nazarene Theological College) –

“Lessons to be learnt from the Nazarene Cultural and Linguistic Diversity program”

Dr Allder will speak on the lessons learnt from his visits to Fiji where the college is seeking to deliver an accessible, fully accredited Bachelor degree that acknowledges culturally diversity.

 

Dr Wally Wang (Brisbane School of Theology – lecturer in Christian thought)

– “Theological Education in diverse cultures and contexts”

Dr Wang has worked as a theoretical physicist while also leading a Chinese Church in Sydney. He has studied and taught theology in Hong Kong and is a member of Centenary Uniting Church as well as preaching regularly at Chinese churches.

A business meeting of representatives from the colleges will be held preceding this from 12.30 to 1.30 pm. Representatives from the theological colleges are encouraged to attend.

UQ studies in religion seminar Fri Aug 19

The next UQ Studies in Religion seminar is coming up next week (Friday August 19) at 2pm.
on August 19th , E319 in the Forgan Smith Building.  Ray Reddicliffe will give a paper at 2pm on Theology, Spirituality, Values and Ethics in Positive Organization Change Processes.
At 3pm Anne Klose will address the topic of Covenanted Sexual Relationality as Locus for Spiritual Formation.

Turner will argue that there are better traditions of thinking about God than either Dawkins’ atheist denial or the ‘creationist’ theist affirmation, and it takes a Thomas Aquinas to see why.
